Avoiding Cold Feet At Your Wedding

You are single for pretty much half of your life and now you are faced with the fact that you will be soon facing the altar with someone whom you wish to spend your whole life with, it's actually a good feeling, getting married and all but that does not mean you'll never experience wedding jitters. If this is the case, just realize just about all people who are planning to get married encounter wedding jitters. Relax, take a deep breath and calm your mind, it's nothing to be embarrassed about and you actually do not have to worry yourself about it. Jitters are common, you'll see your life flash before your very eyes and you realize that getting married is a lot of responsibility. You're actually about to leave behind your life as a single person. Although it can be an unsettling feeling, it is actually more of a positive development. Getting cold feet shows your maturity over the issue at hand, you are getting married and you know that it's gonna be a lot of responsibility and that is a good thing.

However, the fact still remains that these jitters make you uneasy and you have to do something about it. This is why you should try every possible means to eliminate this feeling. Yes it is a part of the whole wedding process but that does not mean you have to endure it. All you have to do is relax - that is the key. Relax your mind and forget that you are about to be married. This doesn't give you a reason to just slack off and ignore the whole wedding preparation. Which means you just need to relax, and don't stress yourself too much. Get passionate about your hobbies, watch a movie, go out with friends, etc. You can actually do a lot of things in order to forget about the wedding and all its pressures for a while and you'll be amazed by how simple they are.

Or perhaps instead of getting your mind off the wedding why don't you just get yourself more involved in it, think of it as a therapeutic "torture". One way for you to detach yourself from that magical feeling of being a bride or groom is to focus on the technical side of the affair. Get heavily involved. Instead of letting the wedding planner do all the selection go out there and help in deciding on the beautiful flowers for decoration or the reception location. Scout for a good wedding venue yourself. Find a good church yourself. Make sure that you are heavily involved in each and every decision making process. Learn to look at the wedding as an affair that you simply have to prepare. Of course, you should be aware of the real meaning behind getting married to another person, but for the purpose of relieving those pre-wedding jitters, being technical about this day will help you ease that anxiety.

And it might also help to know that you are about to be united with your special someone for eternity and that is a good thing and there's nothing about it that should make you feel nervous. In fact, it should make you feel excited because now, this love you have for this person will be formally sanctioned by God and society. It's not something that should make you anxious. In fact, it is something that you need to look forward to with a lot of excitement.
